    87 CSX ebrake cable

I checked the 87 microfiche and it appears to me that the CSX ebrake cable is the same as the drum cable part number 4294-755.
    Is this correct?

I never looked in the parts book, just by looking online some listings called out shelby/disc brakes and some did not. I think I just ended up buying the ones listed for a daytona and calling it done.

I can't answer for sure, but I believe it should work. I do know that the L-body parking brake cable (all cars had rear drums) connects directly to the CSX parking brake.

if this car has the 87-8 rear discs I'd bet the cables are different from the drum brakes and the 89 ^ discs as the cables go to the rear calipers on the 87-8's

as far as the 89 style , any of the drum brake end cables should work

the 87-8 daytona rear disc cables should fit the 87 shadow rear disc if equiped .. I'd think

My 87 Sundance has 87-88 rear discs from my 88 Daytona Shelby Z. Since it uses wedge type caliper, the ebrake cable is different and does not have a return spring. The return spring is part of the caliper.
This cable will not fit my 87 CSX as I tried my spares ones.
The stock 87 CSX received the rear discs from an 89 but two years early. The ebrakes uses shoes in a drum within the non vented rotor. The backing plate is slightly different and uses 10mm bolts rather than the stock 89 8mm ones. I understand the rubber brake line is also unique but one can adapt an 89.

The CSX used prototypes of the '89-up production rear discs, and were the only P-bodies to get rear discs in '87 and '88. The caliper actuated parking brake setups were only found on the Daytona Shelby Z.

    Re: 87 CSX ebrake cable

An update, an 87' drum ebrake cable will work if you remove approx 12 turns of the return spring as it is too long. That will leave 20 remaining turns of the spring which a good length.
