    L-Body Ebrake Cables

Some parts catalogs are listing different Ebrake cables for L-body with the qualifier of 4 or 5 lug. I swapped mine to 5 lug with the larger drums years ago, but I'm pretty sure I never replaced the Ebrake cables. Anybody had a different experience? I have brand new standard Lbody cables that I want to install, but wanted to make sure they were right before I tear everything down.

    Mike,
In the past I think I had to trim some of the spring out of certain aftermarket L- body e-brake cables. It ended up working fine with some slight modification.

    can't say I found a difference for 4 & 5 lug when I did mine way back

though one issue I did have was useing two different mfg cables
not a good idea as adjusting them can be difficult or impossiable if the cables are not made by the same company as the mfg lengths may slightly differ

I was under the impression that the main difference was between the 2dr and 4dr.

Todd, I just bought new cables for my Rampage and noticed they need about a half inch or so trimmed out as well. WAAAY too tight.

Thanks all. I installed the ones I had and all appears to be well. Now to replace the hydraulic lines I broke in the process.
