Nice to see that tub running some fast times. Always liked that body style Mopars (GTX, Coronet, Satellite, etc).

Not going to happen this week, struggling with getting the Duster's new rear gears installed. Pinion depth tool turned out to be junk and I'm going old school to setup the pinion depth.

I'll be there even though I'm working on the Duster at the moment.

The street racer in me is coming out. Fiberglass front bumper is coming off the wall for the GTX and the front runners are getting new rubber.

    Banzai!

No sense doing things out of order. I have to pull the trans to swap out converters and that is the time to do headers.

Since the Duster is currently on the lift.. The rear diff should be back together today. I'm looking forward to that road test.

Duster should be full 12 second capable at this point.

EDIT: Going big on the converter, 9.5" unit from COPE racing transmissions. Lowering the short time from 1.76-1.80 to 1.5-1.6 range combined with the headers should put the car smack dab in the 11.5-11.6 range. Combine that with 150 pounds off the nose via front bumper and wheels...

Just have to take it apart one more time to slip in the crush sleeve... should be road testing in the next couple of hours.

Change of plans for next weekend- My buddy picked up a set of slicks so doesn't need my Dusters so the Duster is going racing next weekend! I'll have to hustle to pile on the miles and break in the hardware.

    Curse you Murphy!

Installed the crush sleeve, set the turning torque, popped the diff back in, set the backlash to .008, re-checked pattern, all was well.

Ran the car on the lift, no problem. 3 miles into the road test, rear makes noise. WTH

Doh! Not sure what you're using but some aftermarket gears like Richmond are noisy compared to OEM. I was told that this is because they are harder steel than OEM.

This isn't a mild whine, this is a whole bag of shrieking.

Maybe I'll do a video in a day or two.
