We could time people around the Cul-De-Sac, and the host hotel could be Ken's basement (ask Patty what time the continental breakfast is served ). Steaks on the Grill for Hospitality night (it's always hospitality night when you hang with the OVC guys), a couple Kegs on the deck, and I'm sure we could entertain ourselves with the hill in the back yard. It would probably be the most profit making SDAC yet...

Ya I had 6 addresses not found/mapped. Google Earth Pro rocks... simple delimited file of either addresses or lat/log in batches of 100 works awesome!

What about around Detroit? Is Milan Dragway expensive to rent?
There have been a few SDAC events in Detroit... I was at Milan for SDAC 7 and SDAC 10...

Im anxious to hear where its going to be as this will hopefully be my first SDAC im going to attend....as long as its not TOO far from Ohio.....I say have it around my area. LOL... I live 20 mins away where the HOT ROD supernats used to be held up until i think 2 years ago..... We have two choices of drag strips. Quaker Dragraceway and Thompson Drag...Then we can cruise 224 in Boardman. Where ALL the cars hang out at A&W and Chilis.....that would be sweet!!
I just hope there is an auto-x next year. This will be my 1st year back after a few years. Somebody needs to put Angelo back in his place in the ET drags also.

Same for me.....This will be my 1st one this year. Ive heard so many good things from the other Rochester guys that have gone. Your spot sounds sweet. I like the idea of the street cruising at a local car hangout. I vote somewhere in the Ohio, NY, PA area. The closer to Rochester, NY...the better

We rent the track we use. We like for our folks to have the track to ourselves so we can run a full race program. If we went in on a weekend like the annual Cecil outing, we would just end up with whatever they organized for the public.Originally Posted by DirectConnection
And because we rent the track, we must charge enough to cover the rental, usually greater than $60 per car. That fee limits the turnout to any of our drag events, as some folks feel that is just too much to pay to drag race.
SDAC-13 which did use Cecil, was not a successful SDAC from either the attendance or monetary point of view, and the drag racing fees just barely paid for the track rental.
That is why SDAC doesn't consider Cecil as a "home" track for future SDAC's.
That and the fact that we do move the annual convention around so that hopefully it will be close to most of our members at some point.
