    e85 on stock 2.5 t1

Anyone ever run e85 in a non intercooled 2.5? I have +40s, 3 bar for it, just wondering is I could run a decent amount of boost and timing without the intercooler. Its in a completely stock 89 caravan that I would like to take to the strip in October. My other van isn't quite ready for the strip so I wanted to take the daily driver.

Without the ability to do tuning inside the ECU, I wouldn't run E85.

Now, if you can tune, then give it a try.

Agreed, definitely not trying to fill the tank with e85 and running the stock ECU. I have an EPROM programmer and a socketed ECU in this van.

with a tune (dash more fuel & tons more advance) it will be a blast..
when i switch from my 93 to e85 its fun.. like spinning in 3rd gear fun.. like slipping clutch with the slicks fun.. fun fun fun.. i do love the e85.
wish the e85 station was closer so i could run it all the time

I think a "dash" more fuel is a little understated. E85 requires quite a bit more fuel in order to be "safe".

i ran 18 psi with e85 on an 86 SC, 2.2 with a swirl head, draw through log manifold setup, no intercooler, flex fuel injectors, no tune, just cranked the distributor to 16* timing. ran good, made enough power to blow up a 525, got around 26mpg but could have gotten better with a tune. I later found out it had g-head pistons...
