I've got an 87 N/A A413 that I simply cannot remove the converter from. I don't know what condition it's in so I pulled off the pan and there is no obvious carnage. It slops around a bit but with two pry bars on two converter bolts it simply won't budge - hung up on something in the pump? Any advice? Thanks!
Sounds like the splines are twisted.

Sounds reasonable, I'm going to try to build a puller of sorts, see if I can't apply more force.
Gave up, never was able to get it off.
A chain around the case and a rope around the converter. Chain to the bumper of a truck; rope to another bumper of a truck. Pull baby, pull!....Or not. That's all I have for a solution since it would be nearly impossible to unbolt the pump and pull the pump out with it installed.
