Brake Lights and Key Chime - Help!!

This is on my '88 Shadow that I'm trying to get ready for Drag Week. The car has been completely rewired with a '90 harness (body, dash, engine) from a known functioning car. Has the column, dash, everything from the '90.

The car starts and runs, headlights, brights, directionals, hazards, horn, etc...everything works. Except the brake lights. The brake lights come on when in insert the key in the ignition. Doesn't matter if the key has been turned to the on position or not. As soon as the key goes in, the brake lights go on. When I step on the brake pedal, the key in chime starts chiming.

All fuses are good. Pulling them one at a time, the only one that shuts the lights off is the brake light/chime fuse. If the brake light switch is disconnected, brake lights stay on. Grounds at both front kick panels are cleaned and tight. Ground in the left rear of the car is also cleaned and tight.

I'm stumped. I have less than two weeks to tow this thing to Ohio and start a 1000 mile road trip racing 5 days in a row. Need to get this brake light issue sorted.

Any input or suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!

Check the connector for the column wiring and the the multiway connector to the left of the fuse box.

If I remember right the "switch" for the key in chime is a two wire plug and it can fit by accident in one of the other connectors.

Dude...you're a good man. Don't let anyone tell you different. :-)

All fixed. Two wire plug, found the second one and sure enough, they both fit and sure enough, they were in the wrong ones. Thank you.
