Hey All, I had the Charger quit dead on me but got it home. Did a code check, got a 54 but let it play through again without removing the key. Got a 55 but I thought I would replace the Distributor Sync unit anyway. It has solved the problem but something interesting that I noted was that prior to the event was that during idle the engine always seemed to be dropping a cylinder. This went away with the new part, idle is smooth. I have an 1989 2.5 and distributor. The part I took out was # 5226531 apparently stock. The replacement part was a Standard LX125 from Rock Auto. It was the most expensive one. Hope this info helps others to troubleshoot their ignition problems.
