    1989 Maserati TC Axle Question

I need a right side axle for my 1989 TC. 2.2 8 valve with auto transmission. It has equal length axles.

No axle is listed on Rock Auto for 1989. 1990 lists unequal length axles.

    Will the 1990 axle work?

As long as it has the ABS ring.

Actually for the 8V cars *any* G,P,J, K based equal length axle would wok if you swap the tone ring. It's much smaller on the TC's and if you use a non-TC axle, you'll eat the ABS sensor with the larger tone wheel. Just to be safe, I unbolt the sensor BEFORE inserting a new axle, then check the clearance after.

    Good Tip. Thanks!

I ordered the axle listed for 1990 TC from Rock Auto. Compared it to my old one and it's a match! Just not as grimy.

Tone wheel is right size? Careful they will chew up and ABS sensor in 2 feet of forward motion...

Re: 1989 Maserati TC Axle Question

Very nice! As AJ said, the only difference between the 8V and V6 Masi axles from their "regular" counterparts is the ABS tone ring.

16V with the Getrag 284 axles are NOT the same and no other application will interchange that I'm aware of at this point in time.
