.tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

Wondering if there is a complete or even partially complete .tbl file for the 92 2.5 SBEC out there?

Just need to trim some TT, so even one with a few of the Spark advance tables would work

Only one I've found so far is the one Rob L. posted up some time ago and there's really not much there.

Re: .tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

Read through the whole thread, unless I missed something, I didn't see a .tbl file in there?

Can I convert one of the MPTune --- files to read the addy's of the .bin?

T-SBEC has multiple 2.5 cals in it. Download the file and use MP Tune. Tbl files are old news .tpl is what you want now.

The '92 has 3D tables for fuel and spark. D-Cal can't edit 3D tables. So, even if there was a decent .tbl file, you couldn't use it to edit the fuel/spark...

This is a 1992 Spirit ES 2.5 MTX turbo. I would assume it is running the stock SBEC set-up it came with from Chrysler.

Someone has def messed with it because socketed board. Actually runs Minty with the +40's and gets Unreal mpg. (35 und up on hwy)

Only issue, whoever tuned it (if they did this) should have left timing alone from 4500rpm. Everything is rockin, then just past 4500rpm 5 deg advance comes straight out of nowhere and limits the car to 15psi on 91 pump. (13 really, just to be safe)

IF I could negate that +5deg advance this would be an easy 12 sec pump gas car, full bodied and all.

    Does that help?

I have tried 1 MPTune/T-SBEC cal so far and it did not idle well.

I understand that is my WCS and I Will mess with it more if there is no other way.

Be a shame though, this cal works so Smooth. Very hard to find cals that work this well no matter the platform AFAIC.

There's so many Rob's in this thread right now...lol

If it's socketed and runs great on the current cal, take the chip out and copy the file off it. That way you at least have a known backup .bin file in case you can't make a proper cal (which you should have no trouble with). Also, you could e-mail it to Shelgame or Morris to make it MP Tune compatible and have a way to actually view what's done to it.

Shadow, if this is a stock 92 then I would assume it is a sbec2. I thought rob Lloyds tsbec was for a sbec1. He'll have to confirm this. If so, I wouldn't think it would work. I'd love to get a copy of your bin and see what it looks like.

I'm confused, how can you "see what it looks like" if there's no .tbl file to open it with?

Already read it and it opens with the .tbl file that Rob L. posted some years ago. it just doesn't have 90% of the tables defined.

What PN is it? I think I have all of the '92 Turbo cals (except for a couple that were available in Mexico). I have them all fully dis-assembled, including an .mpt file for them.

Back of housing has #4714121 written on it.

Actual label # is either scratched off or wore off over time. (looks scratched off though)

    Only #'s I can make out on label are small;

    19412?9119
    ?????173

No clue if it's original housing or not.

When I searched, this was the only .tbl I could find in the data base.

Re: .tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

It seems to be a new cal that I don't have. I would guess it's actually cal ID 122. The first bytes are not the same as either the 120 or 121 cals.

But, I would guess that the .mpt file from either the 120 or 121 will work with the 122 .bin file. All of the '92 cals I currently have use the exact same code and memory locations for all of the cal data (even the Mexican 2.5 MPFI cal).

Re: .tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

ya, taking a BRIEF look at the disassembly and it appears that the tables are in the same locations. i actually used one of the .mpt tables from the cals you posted and it seemed to work. there are a few table misclassifications but that is easily fixed. also, need to complete a couple other tables so they work properly in mptune. this should help shadow out quite a bit.

Re: .tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

So what are we talking here; the ability to change the timing on current tune? Or new scratch tune from T-SBEC and MPTune?
(Nice, my post finally got through without 433 error lol)

Re: .tbl for 92 2.5 MTX SBEC anyone?

should be able to use your current tune. if rob L has the necessary timing tables defined/located then you should be able to change them. for now it would be just editing the binary file (like dcal) using mptune. end game would be to break out the tables/code into a "t-sbec2" template.
