Description: I'm selling my 1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z.
2.2L I4 Turbo2 with a manual transmission. It is red with grey cloth interior.
It has been my daily driver for about six months. I purchased it with the intention of working on it as a project, but quickly realized that I don't have the time required to do it.
The good parts:
The engine has been taken apart and cleaned in December 2013 (by a professional mechanic), only drove 2500 miles since.
New front tie rods, water pump and timing belt.
It has brand new Bridgestone tires, around 1500 miles on them.
It comes with a new battery, although the current one in it works too.
Excellently working electronics (headlights not blinking) except the mirrors.
No rust on the underbody (saw it when I bought it, garage kept since).
Working cruise control.
It needs the following work:
There is a hose that has a minor oil leak, has to be replaced.
It needs a new starter - fired up very well up until a month ago.
The motor that moves the mirrors doesn't work well.
Needs a paint job and a few external plastic parts.
No keys for the T-tops. The lock has to be removed and a key can be made for it. They were working when the previous owner still had the key.
he following new parts went into the car (got the receipt):
Window motor, water pump, gasket set, timing belt, air filter, breather filter, oil filter, vacuum line. The engine was removed from the car while the mechanics worked on it. I got them to check the brakes, clutch and transmission - they didn't have to be replaced. The transmission shifts without problems.
Other than this, the cooling fan was replaced by another from a '89 Shelby Z by the previous owner.
I did an AutoCheck when I bought the car, it had an accident reported in '92, minor damage to the rear center. The back fender was replaced, as there is no damage on it. I still have the report in a .html file (11-16-2013).
