    New to me turbo spirit

I'm not sure if I'm in the rite place this is my first post on the forum. Any way maybe someone can help me out if I am n the wrong place. So I just found a 1990 turbo spirit and I so love it! I wish to do some simple mods such as pt lifters balance shaft delete. Ect... But I was told I can Intercool it so my questions are if I buy an intercooler can I just install it? What els do I need to do? Also how do you turn up the boost? Do I need to do a bleed like a grainger valve and fifth injector? Or can the boost simply be turns up? Or is the grainger the best way? Also witch vac line do I use to run a boost gauge? Again sorry if this is the wrong place for this . And also I thank you in advance for any info you may have. I love these cars and want to keep this little red beauty mostly stock except some engine mods. Also I forgot to ask what can these cars make up wise with a stock engine and just the few upgrades I wish to do? Is 300 to 350 hp possible? Any ways thank you for your help and I dig the forum a lot very good source of info and other turbo dodge lovers.

I hope your relationship with the Spirit goes well G body, could become a beautiful thing. BTW I love me some Reno, kinda like a mini Vegas but with snow in the winter, I used to have a corporate office there but not anymore. I miss it. Keep the updates coming, the first 25-30 HP is easy, the next 50 will cost you a little more but there is plenty to be had if you soak up the knowledge that's here.

Also, Gus's is a great site to learn about boost control.

Start saving up for a Garrett or Super 60 Turbo.

    Thanks

There is no logical reason to call an Engine a motor.

Re: New to me turbo spirit

stock engine probably not 300hp. 250 maybe.

A nice front mount Intercooler is easy to add, up to a 3" O.D. though most use 2.5" pipe can fit beside the ac and rad next to the bumper supports and frame rails by moving some wires and enlarging 2 factory holes. 1 pipe on each side obviously. Something in the 28"x10-12" by 3" with 2.5" inlet/outlets should fit nicely between the headlights. Some trimming of the metal under the hood latch might be necessary

For a boost gauge look for a vac line that's capped off somewhere coming from the front of the intake manifold. Do not tap into the MAP or FPR vac line. Also you'll want to invest in a wideband O2 gauge too to make sure you have enough fuel to not burn things up.

After an intercooler the next big thing is probably going to be upgrading the turbo.
