    Pics of aftermarket radiator mounting

Looking for pics of your aftermarket radiator installs. Getting ready to fab up mounts for my new radiator but undecided on how to do bottom mounts.

My current setup uses the exact same mounts as the stock one. I welded studs to the bottom of the radiator and reused the rubber bushings from the original radiator.

Re: Pics of aftermarket radiator mounting

I don't know if it counts because it was designed as a "direct replacement", but I have the TU aluminum radiator installed in my Maserati TC. I used the provided hardware/brackets. The only "fabrication" I had to do was drilling the 2 holes in the brackets for the passenger's side anti-vibration mounts. I also provided the bolts and nuts that I used to mount the rubber parts to (I think they were actually provided, but I lost them in the garage someplace). Other than that...it mounts like factory in a G/J/Q-body car for sure. Painted black...unless you outright spot it, it's hard to tell it's not factory.

I'll try to post pics tomorrow, gonna try to mock it up. It's out of a piece of industrial equipment and just happened to have the in/outlets very close to the right spots. Plus it's 4 core!

Good luck fitting that. I think you'll find the center engine mount would be in the way.

From the angle it looks way taller than it is. From the tallest point (rad cap) they are the same height.

    Plus...

I have room for the water-air intercooler.

It's the core that matters, not the radiator cap. I would suggest you fit test it now and see if the center mount would hit the core first. L body front mount bracket is much shorter and have a steep angle than the non-L bodies. I was able to modified my center mount to fit my Griffin radiator, and it was a tight fit.

Brian Slowe fabbed up brackets to fit a Scirocco style racing radiator in my Horizon. It's all assembled right now but I will send the best pics I can.

Why a Scirocco radiator, because of the single side inlet/outlets?

Double pass radiator, excel in cooling at the expense of flow.
