    thermostat question

Hey all, just reinstalled A/C in my Shelby Charger. I presently have a 180 degree thermostat. I am wondering if I should install a 195 instead. I have 2.5, bigger intercooler and stock CSX chip. Also 3 into 2.5 exhaust with t3/t4 hybrid turbo.

I always run a 195. Engine temps are always around 205.

    Re: thermostat question

Thanks ajkeski, I will give the 195 a try. This I know for sure, with the 180, the heater would scarcely blow anything like warm air, when the temp was below 50 degrees. There may have been low coolant. When I refilled it was full but subsequent operation must have finally filled the heater core. When I took the radiator out last week, the level was 3 inches below the filler neck.

    Re: thermostat question

I dont recommend running alternate temp thermostats, tbh.

This is especially true in EFI cars, where the computer will usually use the coolant temp as an indicator for when to operate in open/closed loop modes.

If the engine doesnt completely warm up, you could be running richer than normal.
