Does anyone know off hand how far to move the bobble strut mount on a L body when putting in a 523. I'm just going to put it 3/4" from the old one right away if no one knows. Thanks for the help.

Are you referring to the tabs on the K-member? If so, the strut should fall right on the outside of the ears, give or take a little once the engine is centered. You'll see what I mean once you have it installed. From there, you can either cut the other ear off and weld it where it needs to be, or you can get by using a longer bolt and a short length of steel tubing between the ears to stabilize them, and bolting the strut to the outside of the ears. I don't recommend the second option though if you're making a lot of torque or planning to do a lot of hard launches.
I have ran the long bolt for years. It would always come loose and it twisted up the factory ears. Since the engine and trans were out I wanted to weld a new bracket in.
It can be welded in place. Just let the bobble strut hang down to the K frame and I let it tell you where to tack on the new tabs

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
-- Alexis de Tocqueville
"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."
-- Justice Antonin Scalia
Got the new bracket in. Thanks.
