Having problems getting my flashable sbec to take a tune. '91 V6 SBEC 1 with a BoostButton flash module. Acts like it's flashing properly but doesn't work.

Trying to use the .bin listed here: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...l=1#post385334
Haven't tried the '90 V6 .bin yet, just the '91.
Is it for sure a V6 SBECI? Not a turbo SBEC, or SBECII?
It's clearly taking the cal. MP Tune wouldn't report success if it didn't read back the cal from the SBEC.
So, the no-start is either that the cal is not right for the SBEC (IE, you CAN flash an SBEC cal to an SBECII - but it won't run). Or, the .bin itself is corrupt somehow.
EDIT: the 465 .bin is the one I've used when doing mods...
Were you able to run it on the sbec before installing the flashable unit ???? If so were you able to have saved that bin file ?
The car ran fine on this sbec before sending it to have the module installed.
I wasn't able to save it. I was hoping Rob L was able to pull it and load it back on the flash module before shipping it back, but it looks like that wasn't possible.
Tried the '90 V6 cal last night, no difference does the same thing. Is there anything outside of the computer that would cause this behavior? I'm really trying to have this car running for SDAC, but if I can't get this flash setup to work I'm dead in the water since I don't have a spare sbec. I just don't understand how it can write successfully but not work. Engine ran on this exact sbec before I sent it, that's why I sent it to him for the module because I knew it was good. I can hear the trans relays powering on when I switch the key on, but nothing else seems to work. Checked the ignition fuse under the hood also, it's good.
I put a couple more bin files on my Google drive.

See if one of them will work.
I'm wondering now if the V6 used an SBECII in 91.

Can you see data on the cam and crank signal , I could be wrong but i think there was a dizzy difference between batch and sequential injection it been a long time .
Hmm, OK. Sorry for the 'dumb' question - You're not using the boot button every time you key-on, right? Only to flash?
Haven't checked yet to see if the scanner will connect, or mpscan. It does have a complete '95 engine in it now w/ the '95 distributor, however the plugs for the dizzy are the same and I used all the '91 wiring. Also, just a wrong distributor won't cause the check engine light not to work properly.
Not sure what you mean by boot button? I click the flash button, choose my cal, click yes that it's in BB mode, then it gives me the message that it's ready to download and you have 5 secs after you hit OK before it times out. I hit the ok button, push the 12v bootstrap button, turn the switch on and release the 12v bootstrap button after a sec. Then it shows the writing/reading progress bar at the bottom.
Oh gotcha, no just when flashing. The 3 times I keyed on (trying to get it to flash codes), I was not touching the boot button. As you can see it does not flash codes, CEL just blinks on and out in a split second. It's like it overloads a circuit breaker right away or something...
Did you try some of the other .bins I posted on my Google drive? It's possible the 465 is corrupt somehow. I used it to make a cal for Frank a while back, and it seemed to work fine. But, maybe the stock one got f'd up.
Also, I think the one that's labelled as a '90 V6, is actually the same file as the 465.
For sure, if MP Tune reports that it flashed correctly, then the binary is on the flash module. Also, it means that the SBEC's processor can correctly read the chip, since the processor reads it when MP Tune verify's the download.
So, the only possibility is that the .bin is f'd up. Or, the SBEC has some other serious problem. But, the fact that it won't even flash codes to me means the .bin is f'd up somehow.
Have not tried those others yet, just the 465 and 093 .bin's. I'll try the others.
Not to doubt your work, but is there anything in the module installation that could cause this? Bad solder joint or something? I know it's pretty straightforward for you though, once the board is drilled.
Sure, it could. You can get solder jumpers and cross address lines. But, then they're always crossed and the flash would fail. If it was the board or install, I can't see how it could work for flashing, but not run the car.
