    lancer-baron

In search of a motor for my charger i found this Lancer/Lebaron GTS for sale on a local SDAC list
it was the right price to pay for a good bottom end built by a local legend.
well after talking with Joe Manduno about it i decided i wanted to go get it right away.
yesterday we headed out with plans to yank the motor and junk the body.

well Joe came up with the idea to take my old motor stick it in here and use it as a shared drag car.
car was a lot more together then i was expecting it to be, we push started it and i drove it around to the trailer.
after one day of gutting it out its really starting to turn into something cool
here are some pictures for now we will keep you guys updated on how it is coming along.

how was the interior you removed? in good shape or no? Might be interested in the interior parts if they are in good shape.

If you've got the fold-down release levers off the back seat in good shape i'd be interested.

    Re: lancer-baron

Well after working on the car just about every night, we were finally ready to head to the track. Here are some pictures from the final night of work.

    Slicks and skinnies installed

We had some time so thought we'd start painting (plastidip)

Roof and tailgate just about done.

It still wasn't to late, so figured we'd tint the windows and load it up on the trailer. Here we are at the gas station putting some racing fuel in.

    Re: lancer-baron

So Sunday we went to the track, the car looked and sounded the part of a race car but we didn't get the results we were looking for

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POKST...ature=youtu.be

Turns out the shifter cable melted on the exhaust and we lost the ability to get into 2nd 4th or reverse. So it now was time to do what the car was originally bought for, and pull the engine to put in JohnnyIroc"s charger

And now it sits in my backyard waiting for it's new "heart" to be installed.

    Re: lancer-baron

This weekend me and Joe have made some great progress on this car,
our spare parts pile has really grown to quite a good selection for the lancer.
we had fit a front mount in the front bumper
    installed the manual steering rack
made a oil drain back tube and coolant feed setup due to the tbi header.
and found out our spare motor that came from my SC has forged venolias and some shiny rods.
here are a few pics of our weekend progress

Made one 17 second pass. We pulled performance parts off and gave it to a friend. I think it was then cut up and scrapped. Some local members took some body parts, so some parts still live on.

I think your best bet would be to message the chicsgo Sdac list and see if anyone has it sitting around. I'm thinking it got recycled though.
