    New axle shafts

I put in an order with a local company for new shafts for my car. We don't have enough volume for a discounted run, but I wanted to share for those that might be interested. I'm using Ocala Constant Velocity, link below. New shafts will be Chromolly or similar material, $250/shaft. They only thing he cautioned me on for those out of the area, is that Chrysler offered a few different types of CV joints that aren't interchangeable. So, if you car happened to have different joint than the ones in my car, you'd have to source joints. I don't know that that is an issue in the Consuliers, I think all of the drive trains were probably purchased together, but it's worth mentioning.

Thats a great price. I think all of the cv joints are from 88 daytonas.

Aaron tried to pickup stock 88 daytona axles in hopes to swap off the CV joints...didn't work, centers of the new cv joints weren't the same spline as the consulier axle...
Seems odd but that's what he said.

Yeah, different suppliers had different CVs.

Should be this week or next, as I recall. I'll post up some pics when I get them back.

Wow...that's pretty cool! I lived in Ocala from 1985-1990. I was very young, though...think elementary school.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get these up, things have been busy around the house.
