Those running side exit, are you running a muffler? Im working out the Rampage exhaust, and was thinking a boom tube with a muffler on v-bands. I know some straight pipes sound like asss, just putting out a feeler before I buy too much 3" pipe.

I always ran glasspacks on my side-exits and i didn't wish they were any louder...
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
Stop by soon before I take it apart for paint. My rampage has a similar set up now. You can hear it run.
I always ran side exit on my Omnis. Never ran a muffler or cat, but that was years ago, lol
me too!!!I always ran side exit on my Omnis. Never ran a muffler or cat, but that was years ago, lol
I used to love it, but my most recent one I put an "aero turbine" muffler where the cat goes, just enough to soften the sound a bit. the problem I always hated was going through a drive through and having your exhaust blowing into the poor fast food employees ear. plus it kind of sucks when the cop walks up to your drivers window and has to pass your side exit exhaust before getting to your window... but they seam to get a kick out of a turbo Omni sometimes...
oh ya, I also like to do a "slash" cut for the exit and keep it flush with the sideskirt, I also "notched" the sideskirt on my charger to keep the exhaust a higher up to prevent possible dragging
My favorite part was going to the Detroit Auto Show at Cobo Hall. Goosing the gas on every straight section of the parking garage, then listening to all the alarms once you reach the top.
Pat, are you available this weekend?

Have some kid sports but can make something work if you want to swing by.
I used a Dynomax Race Bullet on my 3" side exit on my GLHT
Nice mellow idle but shakes the windows when I'm on it hard
There's a few different lengths, I think I got a longer one
I run a 3" Walker Cat welded to a Moroso Spiral-Flow muffler on all of my cars, with either a one side or two sided exit, nice throaty sound with no drone.

I had the side exit in the past, and went to 3" over the axle. I may be going back to side exit to fit 4" exhaust. Plus dropping the tank with a 3" over-the-axle is a pain.

Went and saw Pat this weekend, and got to hear the side exit. Not bad, especially for a weekend car. Also got to have the restoration of my heater box rationalized away, thanks Pat
A T3 on a 3" side exit sounds right mighty fine.

What turbo on the LW rods?
2.2 T1's had LW non-forged rods. 2.5 and 2.2 TII's had HD forged rods.
I had faith, till i ended up with a giant hole in the back of the block lol. The car pulled really hard though, and really was only on 18psi. Was getting the Fuel pressure dialed in when it popped. Wasn't lean either around 10.8 wot. Plugs showed no signs of detonation or being lean. Ill take pictures of the block when i get time to tear it down.
