    Re: A413 Trans Brake

I do apologize for not making an update for sometime, I was not able to test the VB as quick as I hoped. I wanted to make sure it was fully tested before offering it to anyone. I have not started any group buy on anything since I posted. If you can get at least 3 people probably can make it happen. The drums are still in the making, my friend with the equipment has not been getting any free time on the machines at his work like he used to. I found a local shop that I'm confident with that can pickup where he stopped, trust me I want them badly because it will solve all my 3rd gear problems.
I have not made a trans brake VB because its illegal in my class and I'm not 100% the trans can handle it. Also you will have the issue of the axle being unloaded and breaking. How stall are you trying to achieve? Right now I can footbrake (no lock) 4800rpm.
You can add me on facebook Dakota McHugh out of Zanesville oh just send me a PM saying your off the forums.

I always see wear in the 3rd gear clutches and its about the only thing I have to replace on regular. Working on drums to use 904 clutches

I made some changes to the converter to help the stall and keep the car in the powerband.
what kind of racing are you doing with the car? 9's in the 1/4? is there a link or build up on your car?

Really cool, I started following on FB. Did the First gen come out of Colorado or Wyoming? I think I bought a brake booster delete from you..

Thanks, I am leaning toward using the 2.4 in my new build...

    Re: A413 Trans Brake

Sorry for the absence, just been crazy busy at work. So far for the year best pass has been a 9.003@167, I've been fighting a 2-3 flare up and burning up 3rd gear frictions. I noticed the bushings and pump rings were worn and changed those out and gapped my friction .045 and the issue seemed to be fixed. I haven't pulled my unit out yet to inspect I have IFO coming up 9/3/17 in Columbus.
As far as parts go, I've only completed my lightened sprag drum, still waiting on material for the upgraded sprag.

Any thoughts on the worn bushings/rings? "Normal" wear and tear, or a lack of lube, or?...

Curious about the lightening of the sprag drum, anything like this: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ht-Weight-Drum

    Re: A413 Trans Brake

I'm sure just wear, especially from the heat I put into the transmission. But I've never changed the bushings and I cant remember when I changed the pump sealing rings.
I had the low/reverse drum made out of 7075 billet aluminum, saved 2lbs roughly an made a bolt in sprag piece that has 4 more rollers.
