Friday night drag on 18th! Battle between a 360whp minivan and 290whp GLH!

We both dyno our cars this week, AJ's 2.4 Turbo Minivan is putting 360whp on the ground while my 8 valves GLH is putting 290whp on the ground. It'll be a show!

Come and watch! We'll be there at 5pm and races starts at 7pm

Friday Night Drags & Swap Meet hosted by RacingJunk.com - Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park - Chandler - Arizona - Phoenix

Somebody needs to get some HD videos of these runs.
We need some good ones to enjoy!

So who is talking the most junk?
This ought to be a good match up when you consider the vehicle weight. But also auto vs manual.

We will have someone filming. A new guy so I hope he doesn't mess it up.

No smack talk, even though I think I'll be faster.

Also Harry's going to be running drag radials and I'll be running slicks. After I make a few runs or if I grenade my transmission pushing 460 ft/lbs of torque through it, I'm going to let Harry borrow my slicks so he can get the best time possible. Drag radials are better than street tires but can't beat slicks for traction.

I'm really stoked to see what you'll both do!
What was your raceweight, like 3300-3400?? Even if that heavy, you should be over 110 mph in the 1/4 I'm thinking. You might be capable of a 12.1x? If you are lighter, you might just be in the 11's!

This is going to be good. We haven't seen a lot of TM on TM action outside of SDAC in a while that I can really recall. Thanks for making a show of it for us.

Race weight is about 3600 lbs. Full interior, front and rear AC, and class III trailer hitch. I do take out the rear seats and spare tire when I race. I was 111 mph when I got the 12.6 last time. 1/4 calculator says I can crack 11's. I have the launch controller set up and working in MegaSquirt. I'm hoping that will make me more consistent and get me a better 60' time.

It gets very busy very fast at Wild Horse Pass. Last time I was fortunate to get 4 runs in in an hour and a half. After that it would have been an hour or longer to get another run in. While I prefer going up against Mustangs, Corvettes and Cameros because I think it makes for better videos for others to watch, we'll see if we can get a video of us racing together.

Well it's a lot easier to make it to the local track than to make it up to Vegas. And to boot we rescheduled this one once already.

    3600! Holy crap that's chunky.
I want to see some good numbers from you both.

I might be racing Friday on this coast. Maybe we all set some new PR's

It's a daily driver first, race car second. Which I think makes my accomplishments even more impressive because it is a daily driver. With AC. And cruise control. And a gun safe bolted under the drivers seat.

    Absolutely that's impressive.
But that is alot of extra weight to tote around. There's got to be stuff you can do.

Please get some datalogs too! It would be very interesting to try to make some comparisons between 2.4 16v and 2.2/2.5 8v

Datalog? You mean time slip, right?

I technically have all the hardware to do the datalog, but I don't think I'll be able to learn how-to in time.

I figured out how to setup and use MPScandroid in 2 days, so you got time.

MPScan and MPScandroid can be set up to use a gauge to trigger the logging. One that could work well, although i haven't tried yet is TPSv. Going to try using 2.5v as the trigger to start the log.

AJ is using Megasquirt and I am on LM.

I'm not sure how datalog would be helpful to anyone, I mean, our dyno sheet already have the HP, Torque, boost, and AFR right on the sheets. I don't think AJ posted the boost and AFR sheet, but he has the sheet. Beside, we'll be so nerves on the drag strip, one less thing to do is a GOOD thing.
