You mean to go from the K frame to the rear trailing arm brackets?
Yes, exactly .
The only time I can recall seeing something like that off hand is the Indy pace car Lebarons. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.
This is the thread you seek.

THANKS awesome thread Chrysler really went all out making those cars. I am not sure how I want t do it (making fame connectors) . The X-Brace is what the C-4 Vettes uses on the unitized convertibles also. It will be a challenge.
I used this.
Attachment 57580
It's just 3 inch C Channel.
It fits perfectly over the existing rails. I also filled the rockers with structural foam. It was a little pricey but worth it in my opinion.

Thanks? Got any more pics ? How did you hook up the rear trailing arm brackets ? My problem is I have about a foot of the frame rail missing(on left side of course)
I like the foam idea too .
I have more pics, but I don't think they'd help you much, the rear axle of my project is a little different from yours. Still, if you decided to run some braces back that far it wouldn't be hard to attach it to the floor and fab up some brackets for the swing arms.

There is no torque being transferred front to rear through the body of a FWD car like there is in a RWD car.
Unless you want to stiffen the car for handling purposes, frame connectors will just be added weight and do little for handling since most of the body flex is above the datum line of the frame rails.
This is part of the reason a 4 door L body handles so well. The structure of each door aperture acts as a portion of a cage, adding strength to the upright structure of the car.
WOW!!! You did a really nice job. You could build a race car with that kind of workmanship...

Your right about being a front wheel drive car. I do have a reason for my madness. I am not only want to stiffen the chassis, I want to fix the rotted out frame rail. Plus I want the car look stock as possible. I thought about those strut tower braces but then the car will not look stock. A lot of people are selling the motors and trans and junking the bodies.
That is why I posted this thread to get as much info as I can. I want to build a rat rod it does look pretty ratty. It's a 90 Dodge Daytona Shelby.
