    Toe in issue after replacing P/S rack and outer tie rod ends

    O3 PTGT
    Autzone rack PT# 64256 and tie rod ends ES3173
    Who's had issues with toe in after replacing their P/S rack and outer tie rod ends? Outer ends are bottomed out on the inner, stock set up on the old rack still has about a1/2 of thread showing.

    Rebuilders most likely put the wrong inners on it. Possibly van tie rods.

    Update, fixed by cutting some off the tie rods, also there are two racks shown on the autozone site, one is 46 (standard feel) inches long and one is 47.2 (firm feel), guess how much I was off per side! but the 03 PT GT take the firm feel n from the research is did???
    oh well, its installed, got it aligned, and back on the road

    I dont know much PT-specific stuff but it's possible they changed the arm on the spindles along with the wider rack.

    If i remember correctly the 2nd gen neon inners are longer than PT inners and I believe they use the same rack.That may be what happened.I think the rack is about all they share.
