1990 Consulier GTP Roadster Car #53

I figured since I'm officially starting to work on the car I would start a Project Log for it. I'll probably keep any questions I have in the Consulier section and keep this more as a update as I go. It's going to be a long process as I don't have a large amount of time currently with work and family but I'll hopefully be able to work on small odds as ends eventually get it done.

I'm planning on doing things in a few stages.

First thing is to get all of the mechanicals squared away and getting the car running/driving.
Second will be all the little odds and ends which I'm sure will be a lot.
Third will be stripping things down for paint and interior

First in. I'll be eagerly awaiting updates, as I'm still super impressed with your work whenever I see it.

Got all of the slave cylinder parts mocked up in the car. New slave, feed line, Rod and heim. I took the slave back off and put a coat of clear on it to hopefully keep it from rusting. I also pulled the mount for it and the shift cable off since it was pretty rusty and blasted and painted it.

It's going to be a long road but I'm trying to break it up into little projects as I have time. Next on the agenda is the fuel pump.

Bracket installed, slave installed, plumbed and bled. I can actually push the pedal with one leg while reaching into the engine compartment to crack the bleed screw at the same time!

Re: 1990 Consulier GTP Roadster Car #53

Made the bracket for the fuel pump today, I used two 2 inch conduit clamps and a piece of 2 inch angle iron cut 1 inch wide. drilled and tapped to mount the clamps and to the front engine mount. I need to pick up some 5/16 and 1/2 fuel line. I need to find a 1/2 fitting for the inlet side of the pump or a reducer for after the fuel filter.

Also got the other shift cable installed. hopefully I have it routed correctly. I zip tied it to the subframe with a piece of slit transmission cooler line over it to keep it from rubbing. there isn't a lot of room with the exhaust and axle so I tried to split the difference.

So the trans cable shown that goes out the front of the trans selects the different planes from what I can tell, is there another cable that selects each gear in that plane??? And is it on the other end of the shaft in the trans?

Yeah they modified the selector on the top of the trans, one cable attaches to the front seen in the pic with the clutch master and the other attaches at the rear shown in the second picture of the last 4 I posted(hiding behind the coilover).

Received some 9 inch fans for the rear, ordering some aluminum angle to mount them.

Also got the roadster hoop mounted on the car.

I'm up in the air if I should glass it in or leave it bolt on. I'll probably at least square out the notch on the passengers side, must have been designed for the cars with the filler up higher on the panel.
