1989 dodge lancer shelby fuel injector questions

Is there a better replacement for them and are there any tricks to remove them from the car? Mine are probably dirty from sitting for years. I think there causing my car to run rough at idle. Thanks for any help.

Assuming your fuel pressure is good, take the injectors out and have them serviced here:

He's done several sets of injectors for me, never a problem.

Change your fuel filter and check the rubber hoses to make sure they are not breaking down inside.

On an 89 it's super easy assuming you still have the one piece intake manifold. THere are two bolts securing the fuel rail. Remove those and the injectors come right up. Make sure to clean around them so crap doesn't get in the holes. You might want to disconnect the injector wiring harness so you can pull the injectors out while you're at the bench.

    Depressurize the fuel system first.
There is a schrader valve on the fuel rail that you can attach a fuel pressure gauge to.
Your fuel pressure at idle should be around 50 PSI. You can also use the fuel pressure gauge to release the fuel pressure before you remove the injector rail.

Try be careful with the injector harness or at least plan to have loom and friction tape to recover it. Those injector harnesses get crazy crispy from all the heat cycles.
