    Wilwood brake rotor input needed

I'm putting together a Wilwood brake kit for the front of the Omni and there are 2 rotors I'm looking at.

First is a 3/8" thick solid rotor at 5lbs

    and a .81" thick rotor at 7lbs

I'm leaning toward the 3/8" rotor but I like the price better on the .81" drilled.

Just wanted to get some of your inputs on what would work best.

One is vented, the other isn't. Get the vented one.

Agreed, no way I would put un-vented(vaned) rotors on the front of my car. Are you having problems with braking that a stockish(SLH) setup couldn't handle? Or do you just wanna put Wilwood on?

^ I have the SLH setup but I eliminated the power booster and used a master cylinder that was lying around and it was too big, stepping on the pedal is like stepping on a cinder block so the brakes had to be addressed anyway.

I always liked the Wilwoods, many options for rotors and pads. The 12 inch rotors weigh as much as the 10" stock discs but the calipers will be much lighter and a little bit better looking. I have them on my '70 300 and it will throw you in the windshield, I'm thinking it will do stoppies on the Omni.

Is this a track only car? The rotors you linked to specifically say unsafe for street use. This may be a legal CYA thing, but...

Also, they are listed for dirt track cars. Which only weigh about 1400 lb. Even a stripped Omni will be considerably heavier than that...

I'm certainly no brake expert, just pointing out what I see...
