    simple head pull question

Do I pull the head with the oil drain back still attached to the turbo or should I remove the two bolts attaching it to the turbo? In the past I just cut the hose. Not sure if I can pull the head close to the firewall to pull the hose off of tube attached to the block.

    Thanks!

I've done it both way. Do you care about putting it back together? If so, do it safe rather than sorry.

I used to pull the hose but more recently like to unbolt the flange at the turbo, that way when the head is set back down and you re-bolt it on, you can make sure the hose is not kinked to cause draining issues

If do decide to take the drain tube off, replace the gasket. DO NOT USE RTV.
