Looks like the wastegate puck is larger than the turbine exducer. I guess it would have to be.

Still don't understand why they didn't use a variable turbo.

The multi-air unit costs $1,200. I don't think money is the problem.

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

Apparently they tried one, but for some reason (warranty/ longevity?) they decided not to got that route.

Interestingly enough, the stock VNT from our cars would be an very close match with the Right compressor to have good drivability and 300+WHP capability. Turbine wheel is still a little on the Large size for the 1.4l, but the fact that its VNT could make up a lot of that down low..........

I drove a 500 abarth and it was a riot. A lot better driveability than a 1.4 dart. 600lb+ weight difference will do that though.

Have you driven a 1.4T Dart with a stick? If so, how was it? Been considering a Dart for a while now...

Yes, I drove a 1.4T Dart with a stick. The 1.4T in a Dart had no power. I was unable to tell it had a turbo when I floored it in second and third gear. I was not impressed at all.

You can't tell it has a turbo because its microsized and never not spooled.

I honestly think it drives better with the dual dry clutch but it's a little clunky. The 1.4t with manual pulls pretty good once it spools. I would bet with some simple mods and a tune it would be pretty good. The 2.4l is much more responsive. You can blow the tires away pretty easily but flat out it's not much faster than the 1.4t because of the torque the turbo engine makes. Fun fact about the Abarth 500. It has 0 mufflers or resonators. Just a cat and that's it.

Yeah I was considering a 1.4T Dart and doing exhaust and a tune, looks like there's a throttle body upgrade too.

I could be wrong but I thought SRT4's had a resonator? For a second I thought it had an aftermarket exhaust but the quality looked too good to be aftermarket.

All SRT4's have two resonators right behind the cat.

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

my dart w/2.4 tigershark was a great comfortable car, feels heavier than it is, not fast but great for a long drive. had a ecu reflash issues where it would just go into limp in mode at a stop light.
worst part was the 17" tires.. replace 3 of them in the first 6 months, pothole etc... found out the hard way the dart doesn't come with a spare tire.. seems the doughnut is an option

if/when the dart srt4 (2.4l direct injection tigershark, 300-350hp) glh is awd it will shake up the market like the hellcat did
