Most people don't understand the time and cost to repaint a car. That's why I got out of the general restoration business. I grew tired of explaining to customers that you can't get the perfect car you're dreaming of with garbage materials.

Look at the way Jackson taped off the jambs to minimize paint lines. That takes just one of hundreds of details that takes extra time and makes the difference between a better than new finish or just ehh...

Going to be lots of folks jealous of that paint job, and car! Me included! I thought Mini was going to have one closer to this quality, but it ended up being far from this mark.
That is some fantastic work! It'll be mind-blowing in person!

In the parking lot of the Microtel behind the Costco. We'll keep the shopping carts well away from her though.

You know, if you keep going like this you might just end up with the nicest red GLH-T at SDAC.

How different is the trim black vs the regular color black SEM spray?

When you use a gun to spray panels vs. using a rattle can, you can easily vary the sheen by how much flattening additive you add. You need to be a bit careful as other factors such as humidity, reducer type, temp, type of paint, air pressure sprayed at, catalyst, etc. can all effect how the flattened paint winds up. To answer your question I think SEM trim black is pretty close to Chrysler OEM blacked-out parts for our vehicles. That SEM rattle can actually sprays on pretty horrible, but dried, it looks pretty good on small parts and panels. IIRC, they seem to have changed the nozzle or something the last couple years, hopefully trying to improve it's spray pattern.

But how does the trim black compare to their color coat black?

Color Coat is for vinyl and interior plastic. It has a flex agent in it.

Trim black is for exterior substrates and does not flex as much.
