It helps keep up the suspense of what it's going to look like all done up. Like a girlfriend with her hair & makeup all done up for a night out, but still in shorts and a tank top while she gets ready.

    Re: SDAC 2016 Project RedBox

I saw Alan last night at the SoCal SDAC meeting and asked him about the status of Redbox. I imagine it's like your wife having a baby or trying to close escrow on your first house. There's deadline pressure all around.

I'm sure it will be fine and a big hit
    John Laing

"The sole condition which is required in order to succeed in centralizing the supreme power in a democratic community, is to love equality, or to get men to believe you love it. Thus the science of despotism, which was once so complex is simplified, and reduced . . . . to a single principle."
    -- Alexis de Tocqueville

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."
    --Ayn Rand

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."

    But....
will it be faster than the rental someone else will show up in???

(There's got to be a least one designated beater rental at each SDAC, isn't that right? ? Although i know Alan is usually the one driving it!)

Alan - maybe we need to talk about how this exhaust system in my garage is going to get to over to Wisconsin?

Uh yeah, you know how projects tend to snowball? 2.5" is perfectly fine most 8v motors buuut, since now we're going with a 3" TU swingvalve and downpipe, cant very well choke it down to 2.5 from there. SO going 3". Throw it out back, it's SS

    Re: SDAC 2016 Project RedBox

I get busy with work, kids, life and working on my house but Jackson has been laser focused on RedBox EVERY DAY. He has GOT TO be sick of working on it but unfortunately now it's crunch time just like he has been telling me it would be waaay to soon. I'm not sure if he's logged all of the hours he's put into the paint and body(he actually hired a guy for a couple weeks to help) but it's in the 100's Other than engine bay(oh is that all, just the engine bay) paint and body is done and the guy with seemingly endless energy has moved onto the drivetrain and suspension. Motor has been mocked up, hours have been spent creating how the struts and camber plates will attach to the chassis. Because the Jackson is also creative he wanted to take a lil different route for them than I had originally sketched out on a dinner napkin We're kicking ourselves a lil that we burned a few weeks waiting for the sweet Rich Bryant fabricated custom STEEL camber plates when standard Aluminum would have worked the way that RedBox's creative director altered the plan Anyway, the motor and everything forward of the firewall has come out again, the engine bay will be shiny and red soon. Heres a couple shots of the Man from Monroe's fab work

Is that a TU header under there? And which turbo?
That is shaping up to be one special little bugger.
Can't wait to see in person.

    Re: SDAC 2016 Project RedBox

    Absolutely amazing work!

I have to admit though, if I was at that point, with only 3 weeks to go until SDAC, I would be FREAKING OUT!!!!

So glad all I need to do is touch up a couple of stone chips, and wash the Scamp before heading South...

Can't wait to see this beauty in person.

Using that radiator, make sure to check if the underside of the hood needs to be notched before it's dropped shut. The Daytona TII radiators are close enough in the filler neck area that I've had to notch the hoods on my GLHT just like my GLHS was from the factory.

Are you going to use one of those #4 cooling mod adapters? I don't see it on the head yet.
