I don't think any works going to be done today...... Dad and Mom both caught what I think i had. Dad came home early, Mom sounded like crap this morning, and last night. Hopefully, they get better quickly. I cleaned the head surfaces yesterday, and also the exhaust manifold surfaces, and Jay pulled the turbo our Dads giving us. Also got new spark plug wires, once again thanks to Dad. Maybe go through what parts we might need if we don't have them.

Little do they know I'm home going through rock auto ordering the seals, gaskets and timing belt they will need to button up their donated engine.

Can't have it puking on my garage floor.

The boys are split 50/50 about the decals, I'm all for re-shooting the lower half silver.

Lets get the car running again before we discuss what color the drapes will be eh?

Personally, I dislike the Shelby sticker on the side very much. It's way to showing. If it were smaller, it'd be better. Way easier on the eyes. Not to mention not as flashy. And my brother wants to Paint the car -_- he probablly wants it green or pink or some odd color like that. And i mean neon. I kinda like the paint we have it rocking now because it has a coat of blue on it too, so it looks blue in the light. And Dad, see if you'd take the meds we have at the beginning, you'd be fine by now.

I never got a fever son, you were knocked on your butt for four days. I had to go to work, twice!

For 2 more weeks. I look forward to quality time in the garage.

    Re: 87 CSX number 561

Yesterday we were able to get in the garage again- to recap there was a guide issue with the head. I picked up some new guides with a snap ring and drove them in the head. A few weeks ago I was able to stop by Kyle's shop at school and use the valve grinding machine to center the seat again. Yesterday we cleaned the head, I set the valve tip height and the boys changed out the valve seals and bolted the head to the block.

Today we will see if we can clean up the intake and install, round up a few exhaust studs and pop the manifold and turbo on and change out a few seals on the front of the motor.

Kyle and I changed out the crank and aux shaft seal tonight. While we had the shaft out looked at the bearing which was in poor shape.

    Changed that out too.

Making progress- Last night exhaust studs were installed on head, intake cleaned and installed along with exhaust manifold and turbo. Turbo has rotted pin on wastegate and being cranky about being drilled out. Valve cover was painted and detailed last night too.

I think we will be able to install in car on Saturday if everything continues to go well. When it runs?.. not sure yet. The harness under the hood has a few areas that need attention. If were lucky we might hear it fire up this weekend.
