Project dodge dart 225 c.i. slant six turbo install kit

Want to max HP out of dodge dart 225 c.i. slant 6 tower of power. When I overhaul the slant 6, I want to add a turbo kit. I've seen a lot of slant six, 1 bbl Holley turbo set-ups on my other forum. The problem I'm having is to chase down all the parts needed to add a turbo. I don't have a proper place to frankenstein my 1965 dart on my own. Since I am disabled with TBI from my time in covert secret ops, I'm hoping I can find a turbo set-up that is a turn key install kit for the existing 1bbl holley. I have two mechanics that have a full fabrication shop. If I can purchase the parts needed, I can have it installed. I also have a 4bbl Holley and it's intake manifold, but one of my mechanics couldn't find the funkey linkage from the accelerator to the 4 bbl Holley. Maybe someone has the proper linkage to convert from 1bbl to the Holley 4 bbl. The many links from the pedal to the original 1bbl Holley will not work for the 4bbl Holley. 65drt

Welcome to the site. Have you thought about EFI?

A friend used the complete turbo/carb assembly from a 1980 Trans Am a while back.

Probably the easiest self contained setup to adapt ever made, some early Buicks used one as well.

Trans Am's were all 4 bbl but the Buicks were both 4 bbl and 2 bbl.

The turbo outlet has an elbow that fits a single barrel intake with a simple adapter.

    Thanks
    Randy

mopar-tech: How much horsepower did you gain? I want to change to EFI (where did your EFI conversion kit). I also want to turbo charge the slant 6. I've been told to use the Early '80s buick 3.8 L turbo set up. Do you know of any junkyards that might have the 3.8 L '80s turbo kit? 65dart.

GLHS60: On another forum I've found that the early '80's buick 3.8 L has the turbo set up I need for my 3.7 L(225CID). Do you know if there is a junkyard for Buick 3.8L? I also need to know where I might find the 1980 Trans Am turbo kit. Any info would be great. 65 dart.

Package is not assembled yet, looking to be making 500-550 hp to the wheels.

(where did your EFI conversion kit).
I'm going to be running a MS2 system set to batch fire, more than adequate for my purpose.

All the yards around here were crushed out long ago, best bet is ebay. I'd not bother and just fabricate something.

EFI isn't for everyone, but after years of tuning fuel injection systems I can't go back to carburetors. I found out a few years ago when I put my old RWD cars back in service.. and felt limited on how they operate.

I suggested the 1980 Trans Am and early Buick system thinking you weren't going to fuel injection.

Fuel Injection is obviously far superior but for an easy turbo/carb swap the one I mentioned requires the least fabrication and tuning if you get a matched setup. eg 1980 Trans Am turbo system complete with carb.

Its a self contained unit that if complete can be easily fabricated to bolt on and run fine, easy as far as turbo swaps go!!

    Thanks
    Randy

This guy built a Chevy turbo inline 6 using the setup I mentioned.
