I don't think you need one? I'm running an ostrich on my 87 LM with the ribbon cable end going straight to the ZIF socket I have on there and it works just fine.
Ok, I'll try that, I was reading the page for the ostrich and I thought it said I needed it. So, what exactly do I need? Just trying to get started fine tuning my wife's SC with lots of mods.
You need a socketed logic module, and then instead of running an EEPROM chip in the socket you hook the Ostrich up there.
I think somewhere there is an how-to for the logic module. It's fairly easy if you're good with soldering. You just remove the factory EPROM and solder in a ZIF or machine pin socket yo hold your new EEPROM or Ostrich cable end. If you're going to do an Ostrich I'd suggest going with the machine pin socket.
I already have the LM socket installed. Thanks for the info.
The red stripe on the ostrich cable is pin 1, and that should be facing the same direction as pin 1 on your old EPROM. I think on mine it's towards the inside of the module.
The latch board is only needed for the SBEC. All the other ECU's have a latch chip on-board.
Ok, thanks.
