Is the bottom of the car rusted? Why not just sell the full car?

Cant sell it whole. It has a junk title. No state will reissue a title on a car that has a junk or salvage title.

Blame it on vehicle anti theft laws.

Does it have the overhead console? And how is the condition of the shifter cables?

I cannot speak for anywhere else but MD does allow for a rebuilt-salvage title if the vehicle is reinspected and you pay the ransom fee to the state.

No overhead console and the cables are spoken for with the transmission.

Light controls are sold. The caps go with the wheels.

In SC you can drive a salvage title vehicle.

Re: Parting out 1991 Shelby Daytona

Thanks for the input, but if there was any way I could have got this car with a clear title and saved it, I would have.

I tried. It's not going to happen.

I pulled a lot of strings just to get it for a while to pull the parts. I do not own the car, only the parts.

The best I can do at this point is save the parts from the crusher and make them available to the people in the hobby.

Salvage and junked are two different things. Salvage means it was considered a total loss by an insurance company. Salvage vehicles can be rebuilt and inspected for highway use.

Junked is just that, junked. A car with a junked title can only be used for parts and is not eligible, ever again, for highway use. Condition does not matter. Production numbers do not matter.

I'm dealing with Illinois and Wisconsin state laws. Read them if you are interested. Motor vehicle laws in other states do not apply here and will not help.

Here is the bottom line: Violating the agreement I made to get the PARTS would result in criminal charges for ME. I'm not interested in going to prison.

It would help if the vehicle was avaliable to be sold in those states.

That is a different story and infomation I wasn't privy to before.

Stop spamming this guy's thread. If you have no interest to buy parts, no need to post anything.

Re: Parting out 1991 Shelby Daytona

Pretty sure i parted out an AGS CS VNT daytona in the junkyard. One of 36 total, one of 9 white cars. Cant get cars out of the junkyard (once they turn in the title and it becomes 'junked'). Oh well. Made the best of it and moved on.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

How much for the parts that would be needed to install the big brakes on an 86 Charger? Calipers/brackets/MC/prop valve.
