    tail sport wastegate question

Im helping a friend who bought a turbo fox body mustang. Car breaks up bad and is boosting to 20psi. It has a ten pound spring. I see the tail wastegate top air port has a vacuum line to the intake manifold and the lower air port going to the blow off valve. I was always under the impression a vacuum line from the turbo goes to the lower air port and the top air port is open if your just running spring pressure. The turbo doesnt even have the vacuum line port. Will the way its set up ok or completely wrong

Yes, that setup is wrong. It should have a boost line from the compressor to the lower port and top port open or going to a boost controller. The blow off valve should just be hooked to manifold vacuum. I've been running a tial for over 10 years.

You can use the vacuum line you have there, no need to drill for a fitting.

Intake manifold to boost controller to bottom port on wastegate. If not running a boost controller you can go straight to the bottom port and get about 10lb boost.

Best to find a pre-throttle body boost source for the wastegate. Some of them do not like to see vacuum.
