    Clutch/shifter cable hole diameters

I'm sure someone here knows the answer to this off the top of their heads...the diameter of the clutch/shifter cable holes that are cut into the firewall/floor...if it makes a difference I'm using cables from a 91 Daytona in an 86 K car

I thought I did on the clutch cable but the hole saw I used was just slightly 1/16" too big? If I see it in the shop I'll get the size and tell you to go one size smaller. The grommet snaps in but has some play around the diameter. I'll try and measure the hole of the shifter cables this weekend with some calipers as I have just installed cables in an 87 lancer for a 523 swap but haven't put the center console back in yet.

When I did the 5 speed conversion on my Daytona, I used a 1" hole saw to cut the holes in the trans tunnel. It worked out fine. I put a 90 A-523 in, so the cable grommets should be the same as what you have.

I used a bushing I found at the local hardware store for the clutch cable going through the firewall, and I don't remember what size hole I drilled for that, but it was a lot smaller than 1"...
