"manage attachments" works well on this site if you have stuff on PC

it's a little "clicking" involved but simple nonetheless.. hey I figured it out ...

being an info hoarder I don't use a phone for site uses

Anyone who was looking for an enclosure for the 5" & 7" Nextion displays, they are now making the enclosures I suggested. These are basically similar to the 3.5" enclosure and offer protection for the back. The display is sandwiched between the acrylic panels. These are being made by the display manufacturer, I have no stake in them or their pricing.

The 7" even has an additional 20% off coupon right now.

    Available on Amazon:

I wish they would make another layer front bezel to cover up some of the unsightly bits.

I was targeting one with a bit wider border, so it would have a bit of flange for mounting if someone wanted to panel mount.
But this isn't terrible and should fit in some of the phone or tablet holders.

no i meant one more layer of black acrylic that covers the edges of the screen that you dont normally see when a screen like this is installed in a product.

so all you see is black bezel and then the black part of the screen on the front rather than some of the screen not black stuff on the edge.

you should have a clear christmas card box lid handy right about now
save it (them) and make a border for the screen

like the border around a picture in a frame .. simply cut out the center for the touch screen and create a small black frame with a little trim paint on what's left of the card box top

looks like there's four screws that could hold it in place

a little 3m photo mount adhesive and the frame made from the card box top would stay flat to the monitor keeping the new trim framing from sagging away from the screen as well as keeping crud from sneaking under it

That does look sweet! So far that is the nicest mounting solution I have seen.

Is the 3way switch your selector for powering through ignition or battery? So you can select off?
Have you had any communication issues powering after the vehicle has been running?

    Assembling the case? 🤷🏼-♂️
It’s been almost 2yrs since the MPSciLink arrived at my doorstep. I’m finally getting around to assembly and I can’t find instructions anywhere. Are they posted somewhere, and I’m just missing it?
The threads on this awesome unit have grown to incredible lengths. And searching through them is kinda rough lol.
Any help would be appreciated. 👍🏻
Also, I received only 12 screws(6 cap screws, 6 pan head Phillips), and it appears that I’ll need several more. 🤷🏼-♂️

The case isn't very difficult to assemble. Just do a couple dry runs before pulling the protection off the plastic.

I wasn't able to find any directions either but found some photos and used those to solder it all together pretty easy.

OK, what displays will work with this thing? I am very unhappy with my bluetooth connection through the cheapo tablet I picked up. I want something decent sized so I can see a nice display while I'm logging. I am somewhat old school so I would like to be able to watch the instrumentation live even if it's now in the form of a tablet rather than gauges on a dash. This has really changed my life for the better. Thanks to all who have put so much into this.

    Cordes,
Sorry I'm late in seeing this.
Hopefully I can help. I do have a few displays left, but only the 5" and 7".

During the last batch, I really recommended the 3.5" display, because a tablet or android phone is a more user configurable HMI for the functions.
Although the Nextion HMI is programmable, doing so and altering the display software could cause future issues with the mpscilink during updates.
There were some displays listed on Amazon and eBay, although these individual prices might be higher since I was able to buy in larger quantities to get a bit of a discount.

I'm more interested in learning why your tablet is not working out. I know you were trying out a bargain tablet to sort things out. If you have access to an Android phone or a different tablet, can you verify if the problem is with your tablet or the mpscilink? I had feared you might be in for some trouble not having the wired HMI because of the RTC would be missing, and that might be causing some issues with logging.

This one should be the one you need.
Looks like the individual prices have come down a little since the last time I looked. These are a few years old now.

The tablet is just annoying because I'll have to turn the bluetooth on and off on occasion to get the unit to pair. I'm sure once I get it up and running, it'll be fine, but in these testing phases, something hardwired would be much better for me, personally.

I just ordered that up. I'm really enjoying this thing, and I've hardly used it so far. You guys did a terrific job on this. I can't wait to get the rest of them up and running and in cars.
