Nice read, and most of the comments are positive! That's a first...

I like how the most common positive comment is about the seats. I will have to agree. I LOVE the seats in my Daytona. I don't have the enthusiast seats, but they are so comfortable, I would have no issue driving the car across the country. Much better than my Scamp, and much better than my wife's '11 Kia Sorento....

Why can't anybody make seat like these anymore???

With Darth Vader doing the voice over on the TV commercial, it has to be good.

I have to agree with you about seats in newer cars. My girlfriend has a '04 Solara sport v6, the seats kill my lower back on long trips. But my '88 shadow es seats are much more comfortable.

The scary part is that they made more Lasers 84-86 than Daytonas 84-86.

I imagine the multi piece construction seats like a lot of our cars have would cost a fortune to make today.
    1994 Shadow Sedan. 2.2 N/A, A568 400,000 miles. "the science experiment"
1987 Shelby CSX #418. Long term rebuild and restore ?

Probably, and nobody knows what a real cushion is anymore. New seats are so hard...

We just finished a family vacation to Disney World. Drove 17 hours down, spent the week, then back. Had to stop every 2-3 hours to get out and stretch because I couldn't handle the seats any longer than that... Pretty sure I wouldn't have had that issue in the Daytona... BUT, the Daytona wouldn't fit all 4 of us and all the luggage for a week either.... Plus, I'm not sure my wife would remember how to drive a stick...
