    Re: Relentless 2016

    Thanks for the pictures Tony!

I understand (but maybe mistaken) that there is going to be something at Carlisle in 2016 that acknowledges 35 years since the Reliant and Aries burst onto the market and saved Chrysler's bacon.

I'm going to try and attend with Relentless.

Everything else will be secondary but I hope to be there with the cage and suspension done, dash complete and a running drivetrain at a minimum.

Maybe more, we shall see how this winter goes. This will be my target though.

Maybe I'll reinstall the big honking intercooler and a 2.5 drivetrain so the car is back in 10 second trim.

Some pictures I found of the New England Dragway (Supra) event.

First pass, and then the camera was out of film.

Gary, I hope you meet & exceed your goals. Maybe you would consider drag week 2016? Team SDAC could use another car...

It would be even sweeter to see a K-car go out and kick some butt...

It would be tough just to make Carlise with a place holder drive train, I doubt drag week would be possible with a competitive package.

A lot of things are going to have to go right (meaning I don't get pounded this winter and Murphy placing the odd rake in place) just to make Carlise..

Still, its a good goal to shoot for.

holy crap, if Gary is coming back, i may as well come back!
been retarded busy the past few years, built a bunch of cars and business in the meantime, think it's time to resurrect my omni. i've been looking at whats going on, what i missed in the past 12yrs of turbododge land. still trying to figure out if i should stick with the 8vs or dump in an srt4 setup. i'm kinda in the same boat.

so i saw the ecu, COP and crank trigger stuff a few pages back, then no more. i have a bunch of experience with the COP and CNP coils, even the cheapest, lamest 98 ls1 or K series coils will allow you to just about double your spark gap vs a distributor setup, and have built in ignitors. with the right dwell, on our small bores i could see a spark gap of .040~.045 under boost. and instead of doing cals, i highly, highly recommend some realtime tuning thing. software has come so far. you can get cheap things with configurable I/Os and math channels. i'm looking squarely at aem EMS4 or infinity6h, holley HP efi, vipec v44. they're all real simple when you have a crank trigger. which i didn't see any info on yours?

i'm definitely curious what you're going to do! good luck!

Looking is not a high priority yet, still need to get the body work and cage in motion.

The AEM system has been recommended as has the Holley system, I still have time in this area. It looks like I'm going to be running a batch fired MS2 on the Dart but even now I'm still trying to clear the decks so I can get started. Repaired the rear axle on my Ram yesterday and installed 2 new tires, have to do the other 2 this morning.

I have been dipping my toes in the pool.
Running 12's in a mostly stock CSX I would consider the big end of the pool.

Trust me, I have considered stuffing something a bit more... muscular under the hood but feel that just detracts from time I could be spending on the Reliant.

I'll have some free time in Febuary and March to be swinging wrenches unless a job comes up... and frankly I'm not looking. I'd like to spend some time settling some stuff around the house so I'm better prepared to hit the track.

Reliant should be going off for some chassis work the end of Febuary.

    Re: Relentless 2016

Related to Reliant update- By the end of the month 3 cars will be gone! I have one CSX that is going to Canada and 2 parts cars that are going away. Today the boys and I are going to load a badly rotted '88 Daytona Shelbyz on the trailer and start pulling off the rims, trailing arm, door panels, etc. We already pulled the drivetrain out several weeks ago. And then we have a '75 Dart 4-dr that was purchased for the front k-member and disc brakes for my '67 Dart. That is getting yanked apart with all the good stuff saved (including front clip) and getting cut up and the remains being stuffed in the Daytona.

And then the whole kit and caboodle will be dropped off at the local scrapyard. No more extra vehicles here to impede the flow of progress.

After that the Dart will be assembled and the Reliant starts..

Car is on trailer and will be finished tonight (all we have left to pull is one strut/spindle and the lower control arms)

Will be gone Saturday morning when the scrap yard opens. LMK

Daytona is strapped to the trailer and will be gone by noon Saturday.

Dart 4-dr gets dragged out of storage after work today and we are going to town. Have 3 days to stuff as much scrap metal into the Daytona as possible so I just make one trip to the scrap yard.
