i have two 90 amp alternators available that i can use in my swap using a smec harness: 1) the ND 5233418 out of my 89 van or 2) a ND 4727220 out of a 98 2.4 caravan. dimensionally they are identical. pulley will be swapped as needed to a vbelt to work with my underdrive pulley if i can find one that works.
so, is there a preference of one over the other? they are both externally regulated i believe.
i do like the compactness of them but if i could find one that was even shorter (along the shaft axis dimension, diameter doesn't matter) would be even better. anything like that out there that would connect up to the smec harness easily, maybe 120 amp also?
or if there is a nice small one out there i would be ok with maybe an internally regulated one (don't know the downside to this if any.)

making my own mounting brackets so that is not an issue.
