2.5 TIII Tall Deck Block Project Engine/Parts

    Date: 04th November 2015
    Username: ShelGame
    Full Name: Rob Lloyd
City, State, Zip: Whitmore Lake, MI
    Contact: PM
Price: See Prices Below - or take it all for $900; all prices +shipping.

Description: Tall Deck TIII Project Engine for sale in part or whole.

NEW Forged 3.500" (that's +0.06"/1.5mm) 2.2 TIII JE Pistons ($300) and Forward Motion Long Aluminum Rods ($300):
The pistons come with pins and locks; and rings.

    Rods and pistons SOLD!

    Tall Deck Block ($50):

    Block SOLD!

Dunn TIII Cylinder Head (core, has core plug cracks, currently filled with JB Weld) ($250):
With valves, springs and stock retainers. No cams, rockers, shafts, lifters. If I had them, they'd also be for sale.

TIII Valve covers, wrinkle black ($50)
    -Pic soon-

TIII Intake Manifold, stock wrinkle red ($50)
    -Pic soon-

NOS Hooker Long Tube Header (obviously needs a new flange if you want to use it on the TIII) ($125):

    Header SOLD!

    Almost fits the TIII, lol.

    2.5 CB Crankshaft ($25):
    -pic soon-

    ARP Main Stud Kit ($50):

    Stud kit SOLD!

I bought all of these parts to work together. The Tall-Deck block is basically a tall common block, structurally. The long rods +2.2 pistons are a perfect fit in this block. You will need to add clearance notches at the bottom of the bores for the aluminum rods, they're big. Would be a nice 2.5 TIII NA or Turbo project for someone with the time to put it together. Here's my Project Thread, for more info...

Re: 2.5 TIII Tall Deck Block Project Engine/Parts

I'd like to get the block, been contemplating a project that would benefit from the added height... If you wouldn't mind strapping it to a sturdy pallet, I could probably arrange to have it picked up though my work.

Let me know what you think. Sad I can't find one around here...

I'd honestly rather keep it all together. But, if no one is interested in it that way, I could find a pallet for you...

Well, I've only had one other interested party. So, if you want the block, I'll see about finding a pallet...

Man that setup would be pretty awesome with a couple Weber DCOE carbs on it!

I'm kinda interested in the header...

    Sounds good to me.

What are the chances of having it picked-up at a commercial location, preferably someplace with a fork-lift... It would help keep the cost of shipping down quite a bit.

Re: 2.5 TIII Tall Deck Block Project Engine/Parts

Curious about the "long rods", are they stock length "tall deck" rods? Do you know their length (center to center of course).

    Mike

PS What I meant by a commercial address was your work or some other convenient business address that a truck could get in and out of easily, preferably with an available forklift... Might be a big ask, but if one doesn't, the answer is always "no".

The rods are the same length as 'Tall Deck' rods. I beleive they are 157mm (6.18") nominal.

I do not have a commercial address I can leave the block at.

OK, that gives me what I need to know in order to get a quotation.
