JE Pistons 2.2 .060 with Rods and ARP hardware.

    Date: 24th October 2015
    Username: Dan15
    Full Name: Daniel Lindsey
City, State, Zip: Herriman, UT, 84096
    Contact: csxt907@gmail.com
Price: $450 + Shipping - Just getting my feelers out there for what these are still worth.

Description: Set of 4 JE pistons (I believe to be .060 over. Spec sheet attached) and rods with ARP hardware. Pistons have been cleaned and are in great condition.

All 4 rods have the following matching #'s: 4323958 and MS405 - Hopefully this will be enough information to correctly identify the exact source these came from.

I contacted JE to get the Order sheet and also asked them about rings. A New set of Rings would be $80.88, part number JG2004-3504.

Let me know if any additional pictures are wanted!

They are actually .060 over pistons, must be pretty rare.

Ok thanks for the informatioin so my calculations were right... I just thought they didn't make .060 over so I figured I must not know how to calculate it correctly.

Most of the time we go .020 or .030 over. But if you're using 44/37mm valves in the head, having a larger bore will actually help with flow through the valves. Also, of course, large bore equals more cubic inches.

I wish I knew more of the backstory and full details of the motor these were pulled out of but unfortunately I don't.

Would definitely make for a unique build! BUMP! Price Drop to $450

In my experience with JEs, they are actual sized.
In other words, when they're .060" over, it's the factory size +.060".

Whereas most aftermarket pistons are made to fit INTO a .060" over bore.
Most .060" overbore pistons are really only .056" or .054" over the factory size.

But that's just what I've found in the past.

    Hey Cory I pm'd you.

knownenemy thanks for that information. So if I understand that correctly my JE .060 over pistons would be smaller than other brands .060 over right?

Incorrect. The JE's are usually larger than the other piston manufacturer's.

JE pistons themselves are usually the actual .060" over factory size,
whereas others are usually a fraction UNDER the factory bore + .060"
So other manufacturer's pistons when they say .060" over,
are usually only .056" or .054" over.

Hope that clears it up for you.
