    L body shifter cables

Can someone post pictures of how they have their shifter cables routed mine seem to be way too long and are binding up and not allowing to go into gear properly. Plus the one cable is right in the way of the down pipe. Any help is much appreciated. Its a omni with a a523 with p body shifter cables from a a543 i found in the junkyard.

I'm afraid you're stuck. From factory Omni only had A525 and that was rod shift. Shadow cables are suppose to be the shortest. Where did you drill holes for the cables?

I sent my A555 cables to pull/push in California and had them made to my specification to fit in my Omni. $270 ish, but I now have perfect length cables.

Long time ago, when I had a A568, I put the holes there, it seemed to worked ok.

I have my holes in about the same or the same location as urs. Im starting to wonder if my shifter is too far back and its not allowing the crossover cable to go backwards or to the right. How about did u go about mounting ur shifter mines all the way ahead touching the bracket but the crossovers back like 2inchs. Id also still love to know how someone routed their cables to give me a idea how to keep the down pipe from melting them.

On my Rampage RT (TIII/568) I had to strap them to the side with safety wire to stay clear of the DP, even so, it's only like and inch away an the insulation on the cable near there is crispy A local guy used Daytona cables in his gold Omni and due to the extra length, he penetrated the floorpan on the passenger footwell side.
