So my car throws the belt if I hammer on it a little. I've been through probably 4 belts in the last week or so....one I happened to get lucky and found on the road undamaged.
Last night it threw the belt again on the highway....limped the car to a gas station and while waiting for someone to come get me...noticed that possibly when I switched to the non-ac bracket that maybe the bushings were switched sides. The bushing with the T end was on the passenger side of the bracket....I switched the bushings around and put the T end bushing on the distributor side of the bracket.....the belt seems to ride more to the middle of the water pump pulley now. The bushings are not in that bad a shape and the holes are not very ovaled out. I never had an issue before I switched brackets.
Does anyone have a good reference for the orientation of the bushings?
