I swear I have seen the right one on another car Mike. The fact the cap has a vent indicates it is from another application since the original tank already has a vent built into it.
All Shelby did for the tank was have the original molded without the return tube on the side, it looks like the original mold was modified. You can even see the course markings of the file on the tank.

Not much usefulness but this morning I found the coolant bottle from an 85 B250 Van I parted out and its got what appears to be the original chrysler green cap on it that has the hose attachment like your pictures.

The parts manual lists 2 part numbers for the coolant reserve tank cap for 1987. The general number is 4266 968, but there is also a listing for P body & Shelby 4467 482.

It doesn't need to be tight, so long there is a hose that goes to the bottom of the bottle, you're good to go.
