So I got the head pulled. Came off very easy since the head gasket wasn't on the head for too long. Yes, it was on there for 8 years but had MAYBE 3k miles since I dropped the engine in the car. I did find a couple nasty surprises though. The turbo oil line that threads in the block is leaking, and the dipstick tube has a crack in it as well. This car is getting on my nerves already with the surprises.
So apparently I was wrong. It wasn't the oil line that was bad, it is the coolant line on the block. The antifreeze was very low so that bad line definitely explains that. I'm sure there was some evaporation as well with it sitting for so long. Just now have to get the turbo off the exhaust pipe, and then go from there. At the moment it's a real pain but I know it will be worth it when back up and running. Then I can track down a grille, and heater control cable so the heat isn't stuck on.
