Question Comparing Ambient to Charge temp (Volt) using MPScan

I am trying to see if there is a correlation between the Ambient and Charge temp readings being outputted into MPScan. Both gauges are reading voltages.
Will the ambient voltage reading correlate to what is being displayed on the overhead console in my IROC R/T?
When my charge temp voltage is higher than my ambient voltage does this mean the charge temp or ambient temp is higher?
How does the voltage of the readings correlate to actual temperature?
I can supply screen shots and examples if it will help decipher this.

Does any one know how the sensors read? As the voltage reading increases does that mean the temperature being read out in higher or lower?

is the ambient temp sensor the same unit as the charge temp sensor?

I'll update mpscan to properly reflect these scales. i did find a scale also for the coolant temp sensor.

Ambient temp sensor is in the ECU, if I remember correctly.

It is not the same sensor that displays to the overhead console? I know that sensor is on the lower front support under the radiator.

what i meant to say is are they the same part number? i.e. 2 separate sensors to measure 2 separate temps (intake and ambient) but using the same sensor. i was trying to confirm what "scale" they both use to properly reflect them in mpscan.

No. The ambient is surface mounted in the PM or SMEC/SBEC housing and if I recall used for calculating battery charging voltage.

Engineers wanted a sensor in the battery but was nixed as too expensive so settled for a location near by.
