If you're not going to spend the dollar now I would just get the cheapest 2.2 TII clutch you can get off of Rockauto etc. and use it. IMO there's not a lot of difference between the parts store stuff now days. Is the car a large spline or small spline trans? Make sure before you order up the clutch.
I would just get a T2/T3 unit from FWD-P and call it good in that case. I've been running a stock parts store replacement for a few years and it will slip if I hammer the 1-2 shift, but otherwise has been fine. The T2/T3 should be a bit stronger than that and they are not a lot of $$$.

I also have a question regarding a clutch for an A568.
The vehicle in question is a 1992 TI Daytona.
Rock Auto lists a different clutch for both the TI and the TIII.
Any reason why I shouldn't just order a clutch for a TIII? Shouldn't it be heavier duty?

Get the bigger diameter clutch.
Exactly what he said...I have this clutch in my TIII CSX and have not come close to overpowering it. (Granted I'm still @ stock boost levels...for now) This is the best known quantity clutch package that will work with the TIII. All others are a crap shoot that the pressure plate will be the correct one so as to not interfere with the crank sensor.

Thanks for the suggestion...well I'm confused why they list the larger clutch for the TI car? Think it's a typo, or are the parts listed wrong?
I guess I'll find out as I ordered 1 of each lol

First off, it's not a larger clutch. All turbo cars use a 230 mm(9") clutch. The TIII cars used a higher capacity pressure plate & different disk to take the higher power. Plus the mounting flange was modified to allow the use of the crank sensor on the flywheel. But the actual clutch size was the same. Hence why FWP & TU sell the TII/TIII hybrid setup. TIII pressure plate with a TII disk.
The Rock Auto listing is wrong. The 215mm(8 1/2") clutch was only used on carb & early tbi motors. At some point IIRC, all cars got the 230 mm clutch. All minivans were 230mm, regardless if they were tbi or turbo. I think the change to the 230 mm clutch on the N/A cars happened about the same time as the large spline change to the trans, but again, I could be off on that...
But like the others have posted. Unless you are buying it from FWP or TU, assume the listing is wrong on TIII parts.
After ordering both clutch kits, here's a couple pictures.
The 8.5" clutch...the pressure plate is also smaller, it didn't line up with the dowels on the flywheel

I don't believe Tiii specific diaphrams have existed for over 10 years. Sorry. I still have one I want someone to restrap. Local place said they got rid of all their hardware for rebuilding pressure plates. Chris's guy or whoever Cindy uses must be very rare these days.
