End shaft play in rebuilt distributors

I ordered two reman distributors and they both have excessive end shaft play at .043. My old factory distributor has .011 end shaft play. The upper bushings are worn out in my old distributor causing side play in the shaft. If I were to shim out the play in the reman distributor it would lower the shaft in to the distributor housing towards the oil pump a lot. Which I think would not be a good thing to do? Does anyone know how much end play is allowed in our distributors?

Don't see anything on this in my FSM. Might not be critical?

The spring contact in the center of the rotor should hold it down. Shoot, the distributor in my Scamp has better than 1/8" play in it. It still works fine...
