    Motor mount for SRT4 swap

Well it is time to get the project rolling. I'm putting an SRT4 into a Charger body. I know this swap has been done dozens of times, but my passenger frame mount is a little different then a stock L-body. I'm wondering if I could almost use a stock SRT4 style mount. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanx!

I am not sure how the one pictured would work. That is more of the fore-aft torque limiter

The OE passenger side mount, the one that actually holds the weight of the engine, for the 2nd gen Neons and SRT-4 actually bolts inside the frame rail.

Yep, I'm just trying to figure an easy way to fab something to use a stock Neon mount.... I'm not great at welding up something from scratch...I may have to find someone to make something that works, but I'm just looking for any suggestions on how to tackle it....thanx!

Do you happen to have the measurements from reference points to line up the center line of the crank
turbogod sells that parts on ebay if you want to use the stock location - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engine-mount...-/171399021526
I'm doing a srt4 swap into an omni and was thinking of using the center mount and boxing around the frame to support.. lower torque arm. trans mount, and building on the the k-frame (not using the upper torque arm) -- all filled with 3m window weld

    Turbogod's mount works well as-is.

I don't have the measurements needed at this time. I have looked at Turbogod's mount, but I don't believe it will bolt up to my frame. Unless I'm missing something......I will still have to fab up a piece for the frame mount.....

Yes you will. Somebody has already done some custom work to your car. That is not a stock passenger side mount. They did something custom before. You would probably be better off putting that side back to stock before moving forward. Unless your using some kind of solid mount, the mount you have pivots the wrong way anyways.

You're probably better off getting the engine bracket off of a 2.4 Stratus like some of us have done and build a mount using that. Trying to use the factory Neon mount is going to be difficult.

If I remember correctly....the car had a prototype or experimental motor in it. I wish I could track it down, but from what I understand it is in pieces and when to different individuals.

Re: Motor mount for SRT4 swap

After more research I decided to go this direction....I'm making my own mount (with some help) off the DCR design, like this:
I'm not using the power steering or a/c so this will work well and save some weight. For the frame mount I'm ordering one of these and mounting on the frame like fixit suggested:
Once lined up properly, I can use the spacers to center the engine correctly. Thanx for the input!

If you're looking for a starting point to make your own, you might as well start with an aluminum mount from a 1st gen Neon. No need to waste money on the three most overpriced letters in the FWD Chrysler world: "DCR"

If I remember correctly, going this method requires spacers to center the engine except on an L-body. It would be worth giving it a shot. I have one sitting in my toolbox if you want to use it for fitment.

Re: Motor mount for SRT4 swap

To make a very long story short....the original mounts from the car have come into my possession... . I'm not sure I can use any of them but at least it gives me a starting point.

Top is the passenger side mount, bottom is the trans mount...
EDIT...the bottom is actually a GM strut mount according to the part number on it...so someone was being creative..
